Welcome to Helvetica Inn an original Swiss home from the 1800's with a charming Tea Parlor, 3 guest rooms, and indoor cycle storage.  The Inn is a home-stay and sits at the threshold of New Glarus in an area often referred to as back-town.  You will be within walking distance to the many New Glarus festivals, the Sugar River Bike Trail, the Historic turn of the century Swiss Village, and the many charming stores, taverns, and eateries in downtown New Glarus.  Just outside the back door is an abandoned cow pasture  and an old hillside dairy barn kissed by yesteryear.  A quiet rural environment welcomes you as well as, a wonderful cup of tea which makes everything better.

The current Inn Keeper, Lynda Calderon purchased the home in April 2009.  Since moving in many wonderful historical stories have been recounted about the house.  The older picture that is seen here is the original home from the 1800's and  one of the local residents claimed  Abraham Lincoln gave a speech from the porch and that is why everybody's  gathered around.  It is also suspected that the home was one of the first original farm houses built in New Glarus not counting the log homes, since it is located on the corner of 1st Ave and 3rd. St.  Don't forget to ask about the cistern that was incorporated into the basement.
